Meet the Mermaids: Shelley
A native of Charleston and long time mermaid, Shelley is a creative and positive light to the Grit & Grace family! When she's not gilding oysters and making us smile, Shelley enjoys researching music of all genres. She keeps it real and loves exploring astrology.
Where are you from?
Born and raised right here in Charleston, SC.
What are you passionate about?
I’m really passionate about the study of astrology & spiritually. Whenever we welcome a new mermaid to the family I immediately look into their signs to help me better understand them; it helps me relate to others.
How do you practice sustainability in your personal life?
I try to purchase reusable items, compost, and recycle as much as I possibly can.
What do you do in your free time?
I love to express my creativity through creating jewelry for my collection, drawing and painting, hanging out with friends, and of course watching movies.
What are you most proud of recently?
I’m most proud of my new jewelry collection Plethora that we sell at our 125 King St Flagship Store. It’s been a passion project of mine and I can’t wait to watch it grow and evolve!
What roles have you done at G&G and how has that evolved over time?
I've worked in production, the warehouse, as a storefront associate, and currently inventory manager. The opportunity of cross training has evolved me into the management role I am into today. You name it, I’ve dabbled in it.
