Meet the Mermaids: Elisa

The holiday shopping rush is solidly upon us at Grit & Grace Studio! The Christmas tunes are playing, the twinkle lights are glowing, and that life-sustaining (second? third?) pot of coffee is almost ready.

We're taking a break from wrapping presents, stringing Oyster Shell Ornaments, and juggling shipping boxes to highlight one of our beloved team members, Elisa.

Elisa is our Wholesale Communications Manager, the artist behind our whimsical party crowns, a frequent (and unsuspecting) product model, and Santa's busiest unsung helper. Elisa is hard at work readying orders for shipping and helping our wholesale customers navigate this busy shopping season.

We've made a list and checked it twice, and Elisa is solidly in the Nice column! This shop angel always has a sweet smile on her face. Elisa brings positive energy and a gentle touch to everything she does at Grit & Grace Studio, and we are so grateful to call her family! Elisa, today we raise a toast to you! You are a dear friend, a joy, and a gift to all.

Grit & Grace Family: Elisa

How did you come to join the Grit & Grace family?

I have always wanted to have a career in the arts and be a part of the creative world. Since I was very young, I have been drawing, painting, creating, and dreaming. One day, I stopped in the store, and everything has been unfolding perfectly ever since.

What’s your role at Grit & Grace?

I manage the wholesale accounts, online sales, and help make sure all the orders get shipped out to our customers. It’s a busy day every day, and it keeps us on our toes!

What are your must-have G&G products?

Of course, you must have a Gilded Oyster Ring Dish. I love the Kiawah Island Earrings, Golden Tide Oyster Necklace, and Edisto Gilded Oyster Necklaces.

My absolute favorite, though, is the Ocean Oyster Dishes, because they are one-of-a-kind and my favorite product to create.

You create gorgeous, whimsical flower crowns for our Flagship store. What’s the inspiration behind these beauties?

Very simple: Every girl needs and deserves a crown!

Where you do wear your flower crown? Is there a right crown for every occasion?!

I started making the crowns for the girls' birthdays, so I guess they were developed for special occasions or for days you need a little something extra.

What does having “grace” mean to you?

Kindness, love, and effortless beauty. Grace is a gift.

It’s a friend’s birthday. Where are you going to celebrate around town, and what G&G gift are you bringing them?

I love food, so this is a hard one. My favorites are 167 Raw, Magnolias, Halls Chophouse, Tavern & Table, Mondo’s, and at some point, you have to stop at Hometeam BBQ downtown.

For a gift, an Oyster Ring Dish, but if they already have one, then I'll give them a Grit Adjustable Bolo Bracelet in pearl or agate. They work with everything and layer well.

What G&G self-care item can you not live without?

Definitely the canvas bags. I have several, and I love reading the quotes on them from my favorite actors and designers.
